Larsen T’Jonck (33) holds a Master’s degree in Industrial Sciences: Civil Engineering (KU Leuven) and joined BM Engineering in 2015. He started as a project engineer in the Structural department and progressed to senior engineer and then team coordinator. In this role, he is jointly responsible for the organisation of the team and has taken on increasing responsibilities in recent years.
Jonas Vandemoortele (34) holds a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering and Architecture, specialising in Building Technology (UGent), and joined BM Engineering nine years ago, on the first working day following the move from Roeselare to Kortrijk. Within the Building Services, he progressed from project engineer to senior engineer and subsequently to team coordinator. Like Larsen, he has further expanded his remit to include, amongst other things, planning, quotations, invoicing and coaching.
“Larsen and Jonas are young, driven employees who embody the DNA of BM Engineering,” says CEO Steven Beirinckx. “They have a strong command of their own discipline, are able to translate that expertise into commercial value for clients, and succeed in motivating people within the company. At the same time, they possess strong organisational skills. They have also proven that they can think holistically, across disciplines. This is a major asset for our company and means they are ready to take on even more responsibility as partners.”
A fine example of their broader role within BM Engineering is the process leading to ISO 9001 certification, which Larsen and Jonas steered successfully alongside Steven Beirinckx. In doing so, they have helped drive the organisation’s further professionalisation and the development of high-quality, structured processes.
With Larsen and Jonas as new partners, BM Engineering is strengthening its existing model of working partners. They are not only co-owners of the company but are actively involved in the organisation and projects on a daily basis. “The working partner model is one of the foundations on which our growth is built. It is quite unique in the engineering consultancy landscape,” says Steven Beirinckx. “Each and every one of our partners has progressed through the ranks internally. As a result, they know the company, our people and our way of working inside out. At the same time, they are able to look beyond the boundaries of their own discipline.”
This multidisciplinary approach is now one of BM Engineering’s key strengths. With its Structural, Building Services, Civil Engineering and Industrial Plants departments, BM Engineering acts as an integrated full-service partner, offering an all-in approach to projects of varying scale and complexity. The engineering firm employs around 80 staff and operates across numerous sectors, including Industry, Office & Commercial, Residential, Harbour & Marine, Care & Education and Civil Works.
