Sustainability and quality
at BM Engineering: Building a Better Future Together

At BM Engineering, we believe that every company has a responsibility to contribute to a sustainable future. That’s why we are actively committed to reducing our ecological footprint and supporting sustainable initiatives.

In this context, we are proud to have been selected for the VOKA Charter for Sustainable Entrepreneurship. This recognition motivates us to take concrete steps and structurally integrate sustainability into all our business processes.

We also hold the ISO 9001 certification, which highlights our commitment to quality and continuous improvement.

Our plan

To achieve our sustainability goals, we focus on 10 key areas:

  1. CO2 Reduction Plan – Reducing our emissions for a cleaner future.
  2. Donating IT Equipment – Giving IT materials a second life for those in need.
  3. Sustainable Design – Innovative solutions that prioritize environmental responsibility.
  4. BM Energy – Providing access to affordable and sustainable energy solutions.
  5. LCA & BIM – Applying Life Cycle Assessment and Building Information Modeling for eco-friendly projects.
  6. Competence and Talent Policy – Offering training and development opportunities for our employees.
  7. Safety Awareness – Promoting awareness and fostering a safe working environment.
  8. Pro Bono Engineer – Providing engineering services free of charge for social initiatives.

  10. Digitalization – Reducing paper consumption through digital processes.

At BM Engineering, we believe that small steps together lead to big changes. Together with our partners, clients, and employees, we are building a more sustainable future.

Action points in the spotlight

CO2 Reduction Plan

BM Engineering, in collaboration with the company Eluse  (www.e-luse.be), did a CO2 baseline measurement for fiscal year 2023 and an update for fiscal year 2024. In order to gain insight not only into our direct emissions but also those of our suppliers, a complete inventory of scope 1, 2 & 3 greenhouse gas emissions was made immediately. The results and annual follow-up of our reduction plan are tracked on the online platform carbonaltdelete in accordance with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol.

Sustainable design

Our sustainable design action point includes:

  1. New EPBD rules since April 2024

  2. Science Based Targets

  3. EU Taxonomy

  4. BREEAM

  5. CRREM

  6. Ecological concrete

  7. Wood construction: CLT and timber frame

  8. Circular construction

BM Engergy

Affordable and sustainable energy:
Traditionally, BM's job (techniques) stops when the HVAC installation is completed. With BM Energy, we now offer a new service that follows up and monitors the installation during operation. This ensures that the end customer is completely unburdened, while we deliver the promised returns.

LCA Analysis & BIM

By combining LCA (Life Cycle Analysis) and BIM (Building Information Modeling) analyses, we can accurately map and optimize the environmental impact of construction projects from the design stage. This approach helps us design more sustainably early on in the process and make better-informed choices.
