The new jetty for Vopak Terminal in Antwerp is one of the most prestigious offshore works at the Port of Antwerp of the last 10 years. It includes a 250m long concrete trestle and pipe rack and a 20mx23m Hose tower, all supported by pile foundations. In addition, to facilitate the berthing of vessels up to 230 m, multiple offshore structures including a crash barrier of 65m have been foreseen. One of the longest crash barriers installed in one piece at the Port of Antwerp.
BM Engineering was responsible for the complete design and tender documents of all foundations, concrete structures, pipe rack on – and offshore, the hose tower and the marine structures. Design of piping was out of scope. Also, support was given during tendering and construction phase.
